Lenguas Pendant Lamp
During our open house I built a pendant lamp to be workshopped. The original version is the white one. All pieces were cut using 1/8" acrylic and our trusty Trotec Laser. Due to the weight of the "tongue" pieces the horizontal base started to bow. I also noticed that the pieces weren't swaying as much as I'd like.
After the workshop we cut the base using 1/4" acrylic for rigidity and lengthened the tongue pieces (along with many many hours working out design minutia). The black pendant shows the 2nd iteration.
I'm currently studying proportions and shadow casting. It's an outdoor lamp and it comes alive when gusts of wind make it chatter. Also working on a leather version.
